I know some will say this isnt as cool as the original cast plates.. But why not just take the plate to a vinyl sign maker and have them print a couple up and stick in the proper spot on the boat? Easier to keep clean and the gunk out of and they wont break or snag you or the admiral's clothes.. Just a thought.

I have often wondered why somebody couldn't come up with a aluminum cast MARINETTE name plate
Sure would hold up better than plastic.

I have a friend who built his own 3D printer, and loves to use it. If I could find one good emblem for my 72, I would make new ones. Mine is different from all the other emblems I have seen. I missed out on the one I need in cast aluminum on ebay a few months ago.

Did you check out my post on making new plastic ones? Re-did the little tutu ones for 20 bucks (look at the other emblem post) The long M ones won't be any different.

My problem is that I don't have any emblems. They were gone when I bought the boat. I have been looking all over for at least one. If I find one, I can get it 3D scanned and have one printed. But I am stuck on step 1, finding one.

This is the nameplate I am looking for. This one is aluminum. If someone has an original that is good enough to scan, I will have 4 made. Two for me and two for the donor, on the house.
