Propeller key question

Post by SunbeamIV »

I just brought my propeller into the shop to have a ding on the trailing edge repaired and the technician commented that the current stainless key wasn't recommended, and suggested replacing it with a bronze one.
Is there any reason to stay with the existing stainless one?

You want the softer key so it will shear if you hit anything big.
