Carb recommendation

I am looking to replace my original Carter carbs on my 1982 32 with 360's. I had them both rebuilt last year, but one has a little leak and they seem to surge at the cruising RPM I like to run......any recommendations for replacements?

Thanks!

There's only one choice: Edelbrocks. They fit the carb flanges perfectly since they are modernized Cater AFBs.

While you consider Jeff's long-favored carb choice (he has always reported good results since he switched eons ago), have you replaced the little filter (CG 11?) at the mouth of the carb. When it clogs, it causes surging. It's cheap and sort of/kind of/moderately easy to replace.

The problem with the old Carter AFBs is flooding due to porosity of the castings (thanks t ethanol gas). Hard to fix that.

The Carters were completely rebuilt last summer. Still not right. I think new carbs is the way to go. FastJeff did you go with the 600 cfm or 750?

600 cfm is plenty. You run at part throttle, right?

Well, most of the time, right?

With today's gas prices, running off plane may be necessary. Glad I'm now a kayaker!
