A rare find, only six produced

Post by javalin390 »

One of the few 41' Sedans. Noticed some unique features I've never seen before. Not sure if the transom door is factory. Only has a single sliding door, in the center with cabinets on either side. the windlass pulpit is not simply added on, but part of the AL hull. First 41' I've ever seen (there is a 39' on Lake Eria).

Nice. I think most if not all of the Marquis had the integrated bow pulpit, looks real nice compared to bolt on style. I believe single door and transom door were factory. Unfortunately the layout did not allow for a second stateroom. The salon seems like a large, empty room.
I think even on the redesigned 34 sedan had an extra cabin with a couple of bunks for guests.

I have the same version. A 1991 model. There were 9 built, not 6. No the Salon is not a large empty room. It is quite comfortable. That one for sale has been modified to make the front stateroom larger. It did away with a large upright refrigerator and pantry in the galley, but added a chest of drawers to the stateroom. There was a second floor plan that had a bunk room but I'm not aware if one was ever built. Yes the transom door is factory. And the aft deck is aluminum from the factory. They build a bunch of 41 aft cabins but very few Convertibles (sedans). Great boats. Run well. All are gas that i'm aware of. I am aware of 8. One caught fire but the owner is rebuilding. The others are around this end of the country. Im in Louisville. There are 3 here. One in Cincinnati. The one for sale. One sold last year on the east coast. One guy posted one in Alabama. Not sure where the 9th one is but heard there were 9 total built.

That's a great question. Also like to know how many 37 Marquis were built. They seem to be little more rare than the 41 Marquis. Also looking for any factory paperwork or brochures on the 37 Marquis.

Also curious about the bow pulpit configuration on the 41 and 37 Marquis. Some are bolted and some a "molded" into the hull. Maybe the bolt on was standard and the molded version was option?

I also heard that the interiors of the Marquis salon could be standard white board or optioned with Teak wall paneling. Also the cabinets had exterior handles, recessed handles or no handles.
