bilge pump switch

My M was saved by Carl today. He walked by my boat and saw it listing. I must had hit the off switch on the bilge switch last week. My shafts leak a little and I haven't been there since last week. Why do they have a off switch? Doesn't make since to me. I'm going to rewire that and put in a high wa...

Re: dome lights not working Where is ground buss located?

current + moisture + air = corrosion. If we use dielectric grease it takes one of the three out of the equation. Common problem on our cars too. I use vaseline on my battery terminals to prevent the " Green Monster" My 2 cents.

Re: dome lights not working Where is ground buss located?

Fred, My 73 doesn't have overhead panel. If you take your gauge panel lose and look behind it down and left of the fuses panel you should see the buss bar. Mine has a buss bar close to the fuse panel. It is hard to see from the other side in your cabinet. It makes sense to have it close tho the fuse...

Re: dome lights not working Where is ground buss located?

My 73 express 32 ft had a cabinet door behind the helm, starboard side. All fuses and buss bar are located there. You could drop the ceiling panel and run a new ground wire to another ground connection or to to the buss bar. Run a jumper wire to a ground connection and that will tell you if that is ...

Would be nice if the new owner would join the group. We might see photos in it's new home.

Re: Topside Helm cable too long??

Chuck, I think it is hard to find cable that long anymore. It worked when it was new unless someone has changed it. Fastjeft has a good lubrication process on his website. The wires in the photo might be a problem if they are hot.
