heavy gauge black wires in the overhead console/salon

Post by ukester »

for the life of me I do not know where 2 heavy gauge black wires go in the over head console-they do not have power and they are not grounded-any help where they go would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Mark

What year is your boat?
My 86, 32' sedan has 2 hour meters on the right of the console. In the year 87'ish the overhead switch console changed to take up the entire space (more switches). Previous years had shorter switch panels allowing for hour meters or nothing to the right of the panel.
I do have some extra factory wires that are not in use. I will check my console next visit to boat and see what wires go where.

mine is a 1985 or 6 39ft sedan-the hour meters are in the salon by the wheel and these wires are in the overhead console that has the fuel gauges and switches for many power items on the boat.

What kind of wire? Are they black co-ax ? If so they are just old antennae wires (AM/FM or VHF radio). Common to find abandoned wires, don't worry about them.- Ed
