Need prop shaft, sheer key, packing rope and cutlas bearing. Is Althouse back yet or does anyone know where I can get this stuff for my M?

Do they know the dimensions of shafts for the old Marinettes?

They have to go off your original shaft dimensions. There are too many variables to be able to have "stock" shaft sizes for the big m. Sometimes they can straighten shafts, but 1" shafts are relatively inexpensive so most just get replaced.
I see you have Rambler power for your boat. Two thumbs up.

That darned AMC purrs like a kitten. Touch the starter and she fires right up. I won't repower until I have to.

Which version of the 327 do you have? My Thompson has the 238hp flywheel forward. These things are built like diesels! Weigh about as much, too.

It's an early 327. I'd like to put an Aluminum 4 barrel intake on her but nobody makes one for the old timer. Yeah, it looks like a big block. It sure as heck runs nice though.
My M isn't fast by any measurement or any stretch of the imagination. I just put her in Slowverdrive, cruise and enjoy a beer or 3. She's 31' but with a narrow beam, around 8 1/2' as I recall. It's just a cool old boat, perfect for my needs. Can't imagine another boat I'd like more. Love my M. She's a real sweetheart.

Just replaced my rudder cutlass bearings and stuffing boxes. Got them from Deep Blue Yacht Supply. Real happy with my purchase.

I have ordered 3 shafts and the dripless logs for the Bertram from Deep Blue Yachts as well and was equally happy in dealing with them. The have a great site and quite a few things you don't see just everywhere. Real boat people.
