Just had my offer accepted for the M32 in Baltimore. I am doing a sea trial and bottom inspection on Thursday. I am new to aluminum and would really appreciate any help on understanding the boat and potential problems. If anyone can recommend/help me here I'd really be indebted.
Thanks,
Bruce

If you havent already  line up a good marine surveyor that is knowlegable on Aluminum boats. ;)

And when you get a chance please include a signature in your posts, :D

1. Check that CAPAC meter like a hawk.

2. Redue the anodes if the meter isn't in the 9 to 1.2 range.

3. See # 1 above!

Any thoughts on a surveyor in the Baltimore area. Actually could probably learn a lot from folks on the site.

Ask your intended insurance company for recommendations. When I did the purchase survey (eons ago), Boat US, my insurer, gave me names of several. I know you probably got a bargain on the boat judging from the various postings about it. A thorough, tough surveyor - one you not the seller or broker choose - will point you to both fatal flaws and normal wear & tear items you should know about. At your purchase price, you probably can't expect the seller to be doing much to make corrections.

In general, looking over a history of forum posting should alert you to things owners are fretting about.
