boating in cold weather

Things are awfully quit on the Forum. Couple months to spring.
Well, we may have a little sleet /rain this weekend but I'm going to spend the night on the boat anyway. Miss the old girl. I hate spending slip rent & not using her. Give me a chance to drum some sewing business. Replaced two zippers & made a power cord bag the past two weeks for others. Turn up the heat & get under the electric blanket. Be thinking of you guys above the Masson Dixon line. Have not heard anything from "Fast Jeff" lately. Hope He is OK.

Up here in Cincy most of the off-river marinas are ice bound. Which is something of a godsend....
... nobody'd ever know you're "rockin' the boat"...

Caught the item about missing Fast Jeff Perry here lately so I messaged Jeff who reports he still is having problems logging on to the site so he just lurks. I suggested he may want to use another browser since he alone appears to be getting locked out. Meanwhile, Jeff graciously offered to take questions at his email address. So, gulp, here it is: fastjeff57 at aol dot com.
I spelled it out so you all will have to use the correct email form of address. If you do get answers from him -and I am sure you will, be sure to share the advice on the forum.

Visited the boat today. I have a fitted cover that was sagging above the cabin top so I went inside and pushed the snow off. I then rigged some lines. I have a couple of posts--one on the cabin top and one on the foredeck and ran lines from them to the railings. I ran a line from the handrail on the starboard side of the hardtop, around the first two stanchions of the bow rail and tied the other end on the handrail on the port side of the hard top. I then went around and tightened the lines attaching the cover to the trailer. The better answer is to make a frame I guess, but I'm hoping sometime in the next couple of years I can come up with the best answer: Live where there is no cold weather!
