IT sounds as if you are putting this matter behind you, moving on. But your discussion with the marina operator should serve to put them on notice that in the future, more care should be exercised to see that the straps are properly placed. It's simple, good protocol in marina lifts. One thing you might want to consider: mark the spot where straps should be placed with permanent tape or paint and when it's time to lift, remind the marina about those locations. You can have more damage than to just the shafts when a boat in improperly lifted. Good luck

Agreed, Joel! I was explicit that I expect them to be more careful going forward, and talked about where the straps need to be placed. I will be reminding them the next time we pull it out.

You could add a nice big "S" to where the straps should go.

If you used Jeff's suggestion (recommended), you can get a pro look by getting a sheet or 2 of large vinyl (waterproof and a good look) letters at Office Depot or Staples.
