Gun safe on 1985 39' Marinette Sedan

Cannot get key to unlock safe at lower helm
anyone got any suggestions?
I posted 3 pictures of key in panel
The whole wood panel next to helm folds forward

I was thinking of relocating the ignition switches to a spot like that. The lock can be replaced, just don’t damage the wood, drill it out.

I would spray lots of WD-40 or similar into the lock and let it soak for a while. The key might open it then.

It's cool you have the diesels. Please let us know how they perform. I hear they're pretty easy on fuel.
