Agreed. Just making a point on how outdrives can turn in either direction (with the motor normal rotation).

With my new "boat" I don't have to worry about such things. (It's a kayak!)

I'm still laughing! That poor SOB.

Jeff

PS: Couldn't leave well enough alone so I fabbed a retractable rudder for mine. Works great!

Jeff,

Just wondering...

Given the shape of the retractable rudder...

... and it's color...

Does this mean that when you're out, paddling thru the inlets (and outlets??) of this country's hinterland, deeply enthralled with the scenery that...

... when you look up and realize you're a little bewildered by your surroundings....

You raise the rudder hoping to attract attention with the letter "L" for LOST!!! ???

Sorry, couldn't resist in the mindless throws of boating's off season...

Leave it to someone to make that argument!

The red color is the equivalent to a red flag since the kayak sticks out a few feet behind my old Ranger truck. The L shape give more steering without adding depth to the rudder, that might be damaged in shallow water. (Clever, eh?) That rudder makes a world of difference on my kayak.

Rock Hall, MD where I am privileged to live is a paradise for calm water kayaking! If anyone is in hte area next summer, let me know \and I'll let you try it.
