I would back flush engine. Sounds like a piece from previous damaged impeller is clogging the flow.

This is why its important to have a signature.
I think you have a 1988 somekindofboat with twin 360's :?:
Raw or Fresh Water Cooled :?: (lake or ocean water running thru engine or self contained anti freeze like a car)
Do you have a good flow of water out the exhaust :?:

Goby - at upper left of page under the Board Index button is the User Control Panel. Click it, then the edit signature tab where at the bottom right you'll see a box to enter your descriptive/signature info.If you're tried that and your signature doesn't doesn't display, post a note for Admin Joe Howard.

Meanwhile, you reported you have "freshwater raw water cooled" engines. It should be one or the other.

If all the above in in proper order...

Check your intake strainer gasket and o ring (on the old salad bowls)

Had similar issue couple seasons ago and that was the problem. It was such a small air leak I did not notice it until very close inspection.

Mine on Port would start to warm up as I increased rpms. Never overheated but got up around 200. Drove me nuts until I found the air leak.

good hunting!

Nice sugnature :!:
I will assume your fisherman is a 32' :?:
You may want to check all you hoses and clamps coming from the "salad bowl" to the pump.
While you down there, 8-) pull the hoses off the heat exchanger for the transmission and back flush it with a garden hose.

Thank You to All for your valuable input!
It is really great to be able to receive help from the Forum.
As it turns out the problem was remedied by cleaning the "salad bowl" rim ,gasket, cover and making a tight closure on the cover.
Thanks for your suggestion Barkley Dave
