Automatic temporary deactivation on email address change

The phpbb software as a security feature will deactivate an account if the email address changes. I just learned this. Deactivation will not notify me automatically. I cannot change this feature. I will reactivate.

Please don't take it personally if this happens to you. There are a number of things I am learning.
