Good point. At the marina we were at (with the 2 mile no wake zone) I used to go on one motor and return on the other. One could do that while trolling, to even things out. Plus, it's a good idea to keep the dead motor warmed up and ready if needed (like when that container ship looms up on you from out of the fog!)

Thanks everyone. I know this is an oldy, but goody topic. I can't wait to see the floscan results. For the past few seasons I have run one engine at about 1200 rpms. That gets me 7 knots. No hurry, just lake cruising.
