Thermostat housing

Post by wschneid »

I have an 86 32' sedan flybridge with the 318 Chrysler engines. I want to check the thermostat, but I'm not sure where it is located.
Could someone post a photo of the housing? I see a number of hoses going into a fitting with two bolts near the front of the engine. Is that it?
Any recomendations on removing it?

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to remove it?

It is located at the top front of the engine right in front of the carb. Pull the hoses off, and remove the bolts. You may need to tap it with a hammer or such to get it to pop free. There should be a gasket there also.
