Plastic Sheet for interior use

Post by shade2u2 »

I expect to have some heavily discounted rigid plastic PVC/CPVC sheets available to me this spring.
These sheets would be similar to starboard plastics though not designed outdoor applications, and would weigh a little more. They can be cut with a table, hand or jig saw, etc. They would be much cheaper than starboard or ABS sheets.

For example, I should have several CPVC sheets of .080" x 48" x 72" in a light gray pearlescent color that weigh about 15 lbs/ each. These will be about 5/64" thick and would be a little more brittle since they are made of a CPVC mix. These sheets would probably be about $10 per sheet and might work well for interior wall and maybe ceiling use. I would not hold up well to exterior use in direct sunlight.

There may also be a few sheets at 1/2" x 48" x 96" white PVC sheets also. Each sheet would weigh about 125 lbs. These may be usable in a supportive application in our boats. Again it would not be ideal for exterior use unless it is completely covered by carpet or vinyl to reduce the UV degradation. I would guess that these would be around $40 per sheet.

There also should be some black PVC sheets at 1/4" x 48" x 96" along with other unknown types.

If anyone might be interested, please let me know. I thought that I would throw this out there to see if I could help anyone out. I have used this material on a few boats over the years for my personal use.
