Bare Bones

Opposite Story.

Man buys boat. Man buys Bigger Boat. Man Buys BIGGER BOAT. Man buys kayak. Man buys Marinette.

One day, a man thought "Feadship makes Super Yachts from Aluminum. Can I have an Aluminum Boat?" Yes. Marinette or Striker - Cool. Found a Marinette that has been sitting on dock in Portsmouth, VA for 10 years. Engine - a pile of rust. Wood - nothing but crumbles. Aluminum - Looked like it had been welded yesterday. AWESOME!

Then. man found Boat Angel was selling a 1969 28' Sportsman Express Hardtop - High bidder wins! But the boat had bad paint damage to all horizontal decks and no budget to repaint. Solution? Strip to bare Aluminum and polish with Mequire's Mag Wheel Polish.

Old 88 Chryler 360 out - In with newish Mercruiser 5.0L 240HP TBI, with modern fuel injection and seals. Raw water cooled. Rebuilt 71c. Fresh Prop. New Helm and rudder with bearings. New cutlass bearing. Other improvements - New wood deck, but will replace with HDPE next.

An ugly boat, I'd say, but most think its a head turner. I like no maintenance, but when everyone is riding a Clorox Bottle, it is fun to be different.
