Generator Update

Post by jtalberts »

If it doesn't get moved from the old board, my generator kicked on during transport and the engine is toast. The generator was over 40 years old so fixing it was not an option. Today I received a large check from my insurance company to cover the cost of replacing it with a brand new one and labor to do so. I am so pumped. Now I just have to get the logistics figured out of when it will get replaced.

Read of a danger regarding gen sets that I was not aware of: If the water inlet scoop is wrong (or oriented wrong) it can force water into the motor while the boat is running, flooding over into the gen set motor.
