Wiring diagram

Post by shelbygt »

Here's a long shot, wishful thinking question. Any chance there's a wiring diagram for my 1962 Marinette? My wiring is a train wreck. I know an ohm from a volt and I'm not afraid to totally rewire if need be. I'm just looking at all of the splices, considering everything that doesn't work and wondering what my options are.

Sorry, got ahead of myself. It's a 30 ft single engine 327 AMC. Guess I need to look into signature. Not sure what I need to do? I have the Gray Marine shop manual, which is very helpful. It runs awesome. Not charging so I'm replacing the generator and regulator with a single wire alternator this weekend. It would be nice to see a wiring diagram to have an idea if available.

All I have on my PC is the old Mopar engine manual, but I can tell you this much: The new alternator requires only a "hot" wire to the battery. The hot wires to your present generator regulator needs to be tapped off.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I bought a 1 wire alternator. Fortunately I have tbe Gray Marine engine manual for the AMC which will help me identify some of the engine wiring. What I'm looking for is a wiring diagram for the rest of the boat.

Oh well, I was hoping. Put the 1 wire alternator on this weekend. At least she's charging now. I'm just going to start building a wiring harness one circuit at a time. I've never seen anything like it.

Don't envy you that nightmare! I hate electrical wiring.
