AC system size for 28' Express

Post by ericinga »

What size marine AC system do owners have on their 28' Express?

The boat is in GA and experiences 90+ degree days from June to Sepetember. I used rough volume measurements, did not subtract for interior components, used a load factor of 19 and came up with 12,000 BTU.

Specifically, I'm looking at a Flagship Marine system. I was planning to over size the system to 16.5K BTU. According to them, short cycling would not be an issue with this size unit and it only cost a couple hundred more. I like the Flagship system since the design avoids the use of circuit boards, does not use reverse cycle heating and has thicker materials.

Thoughts?

I looked at this unit. I like the fact that you can run the heat while the boat is on the hard during the winter. :D
and its made in the USA. :)
