New V-Berth Mattress

Post by yooper »

I need a new V-Berth Mattress for my 32'. I bought some material but I think I will ditch most of it and go in a different direction. I found some posts where persons have cut down regular rectangular mattresses into a V-berth shape. One guy reshaped a pair of innerspring mattresses. The results were good but it looks like a fairly complicated operation. Another person ordered a Walmart 8" foam mattress and cut it into a one part mattress for the V-berth and showed how to reshape the mattress cover. That approach looks better for me. I need to decide quickly be better to do this while the boat is on land.

Quick Google search found these guys. Looks like they can do any type or style.

But if you can get one of the memory foam pads and cut it your self .....?????

My v berth has a 4 inch hard foam pad line the rest of the seats and it is not very comfortable, but easy to clean. I would worry the cloth/spring ones would mold real easy.

I went to Sams and got a 4" memory foam cut to shape & put on top of factory cushions. Softest bed I own. Use king size sheets.
