Cleaning Interior Hull

Post by sckaras »

Looking for recommendations...
Have stripped out complete cabin and v-berth interior as we rebuild entire boat... 35 years of mold, mildew etc...would like to wipe / clean before reinstalling new interior. Looking for recommendations for cleaning products that will not react adversely with aluminum. Is a simple bleach and water solution ok? Since new to aluminum boat ownership don't want to do anything adverse to effect aluminum. Thanks in advance

I got a recipe for cleaning fluid off this site years ago. Get two 32 oz spray bottles put 1/2 inch of dawn, 1/4 inch of clorox, and a teaspoon of TSP in one fill with water, decant 1/2 into second bottle, fill both. Measurements are arbitrary. Vary them based on how the cleaner works on your job. With the size of your job you need a lot of cleaner and this stuff is made for pennies not dollars. I use it on boats, home and cars.

I used a simple green spray cleaner,as I scraped with wide putty knife and vacuumed with wet dry vac.
