Need info on steering

Post by Busia »

Anybody have info on the steering on a '77 32 foot model? Is it a Morse brand cable system? Can I pull the inner cable out and leave the outer sheath? How do I get it apart at the helm? Where can I get parts? Any help would be greatly appreciated--Ed

Look up steering on UTUBE, If I remember correctly, there is a number on rudder end; if Teleflex the last 2 digits are length in feet, If Morse last 3 digits in inches.

BigM
Or you could just BOAT (break out another thousand) and switch to hydraulic steering. Best thing I did for myself and my Marinette

Look up Morse Red Jacket control cables. Might be made by Teleflex now. Westmarine.com has a good selection.
