Old vs New hulls

Post by cjpd5430 »

I currently have a 1983 28 express which has the deeper V hull. I am considering moving up to a 32. What I am wondering is the difference in the ride of the old (more rounded) hull vs the newer deeper V hull. The deeper V hull has a really nice ride up here on Lake Erie. Any info and opinions would be appreciated.

I was told by a guy that owned an older style, flatter hull that they pound more than the later hulls.

That's usually the case with additional dead rise. The negative aspects of it is less speed (usually) and a deeper draft.
