getting up on plane

Post by kgrove70074 »

Removed the 6.5 onan generator out of the aft bilge area of our 28' sedan FB. 430 pounds lighter the old girl gets up on plane much easier. Amazing how much different she planes at cruising speed at 3000 RPM. The single engine 360 doesn't have to work so hard to get her up on plane. seems to improve on fuel consumption by quite a bit. It is odd though that at WOT the top end speed has not increased. Another plus, the exhaust ports are now fully up out of the water, before they were half submerged. She is still not a fast boat by any means but taking that weight out of the back of this smaller marinette was a huge improvement on performance and fuel effiency!

Please use your signature feature guys. Hard to believe 500lbs would make that much of a difference.
