Is there a replacement for the stock starter?

I took mine to a local rewind shop and had it back in a few days.

The original Prestolite starters have to be rebuilt. I believe Arco makes a new version of the Delco starter. I also believe there is a pmgr (gear reduction) available. I will see if i still have the part numbers.

Did I mention that having mine rebuilt was less than $100?

The problem I'm having is that when I try to start the starter will turn the engine very slowly then stop! I've had starter rebuilt, replaced starter relay, new batteries, removed and cleaned all battery cables! What's else can I check or replaced!

Check the flywheel ring gear. I have seen 5 come loose in the last 2 years on chryslers. There should be no gap between the gear and the flywheel.

Check for water in the cylinders.
Maybe Trying to hydrolock due to leaky intake, exhaust or head gasket.
