The idea of using the round tank from a semi sounds interesting, as long as it...1) fits down the hatch hole, and 2) you can obtain the crescent shaped mounts from the semi to go with it. You would also have to fabricate the plumbing to the existing filler cap.

A good friend of mine has two aluminum tanks from a semi in his 42 comander. Not coast Gaurd approved, but you could get it there with some welding and fitting rearranging.

Not sure where you are located but Saginaw Marina in MI had a really good selection of used tanks. I picked up two nice tanks for my 32 last year. He's got all kinds of interesting stuff.
