I am 260 lb and do not think my original 5/8" decking feels at all springy. I have replaced the hatch and the section forward of it thus far. My hatch had gotten rotten and the section in front of it was beginning to sag in the middle over time and held water. in a pool. I need to do the three remaining sections still, they are not soft anywhere but have holes from mounted fishing chairs and down riggers.

I am replacing my deck and actually painting it with Olympic RESCUE IT Tintable Resurfacer . I figure I would give it a try since it is exterior rated.

Cut new plywood decking from 5/8" exterior plywood. Had a pickup bed sprayer spray and underlap the bottom side by 6". Replaced the big washer on the cockpit drains with a big 1/4" aluminium flage that fits under the corner side walls. Tighten the cockpit drain nut and the deck is tightened down in the corners. Only put back the under deck screws I could reach.

Hello trying to decide on what to use, on the aft deck . Has anyone used NAUTIFLOOR ? I was looking at the 65TE . I looked at plastek. I did not like the way it was glued together. I seen a swim platform with it. It did not hold up very well. I was going to go with starboard ,Butt the wife likes the look of the teak. Thanks Joe

My plasteak bowsprit held up for years with no maintenance and always looked like new (was still going strong when I sold it). With more energy for a project, I would have covered rear deck with it. Mine was T&G (tongue and groove) - no glue. For the rear deck I would have used some kind of mfr-approved sealant in the groove where two pieces lock together.

I am going to replace my deck on my 32' Sedan and new acquired 26' Express.

I replaced my 32' in 2008 with marine plywood and covered with Nautolex. It is already getting spongy. I am done with wood.

What I have considered

1 Aluminum decking
Pros - will never rot
Cons - noise transmission , mounting (need to be bolted to access tanks) , ??? what do cover it with appearance, expansion and contraction , cost

2 King starboard
Pros - will never rot
Cons - strength , appearance? , cost , expansion and contraction

3 Synthetic plywood "Coosa"
Pros -will never rot, direct replacement for plywood, dimentionally stable
Cons - need to be covered, cost,

4 Wood Never again

I am planning on going with Coosa http://www.coosacomposites.com Bluewater 26. I am going to use 3/4 in ( they do not sell 5/8). approx $227 plus shipping for 4x8 sheet And cover with Nautolex or use SeaDek http://www.seadek.com

Are there any composite decking that would work?

RiverRatt -- see my post of Plasteak above. The only con is cost but it's virtually forever so the cost is one time. Very easy to work with. I used a scrap piece in my garden and 20 years later, as good as new under damp, shady conditions. On the boat, it was not harmed by sun
