Carl,
Great story.
Would you want others to share how / why they named their boats as they have?

That is a meaningful name and a great story.
Mine is very simple at the moment... excuse the barrel we pulled out of the river that day...

Carl,
Wonderful story. Having spent a year living in Iwakuni, Japan, I can attest to the friendly people there. Our great boats provide us with our own individual IKOI. Thank you for sharing your story.

Named mine "Southern Lady" after my wife of 50 plus years.
This could be an interesting thread to pass these winter days.

Re: What's in a Boat's Name?
When we bought our boat in June 2010, we wanted to name her something that reflected the Admiral and my way of thinking. We also wanted to include our children in the process. After several entries we went with Sunset Seeker.
The "why"..
Reflected a wanderlust view of boating
We boat on the Ohio and direction of travel is pretty much East or West. Since our forays upriver (east) aren't very lengthy and Google Earth didn't show a lot within 30 miles, West seemed the best option. So "Sunset" was a logical choice and "Seeker" tied into our adventurous spirit.

We had a time when we bought the 28. My secretary finally asked if there was some Italian word and that did it:
It confuses people until the look it up on their smartphones. . .
.Innamorata
