AC/Heat units

Post by louism58 »

Who has used one of the newer portable Heat/AC units out there for their boat?
Any feedback on how well they work?
My current system works but in researching it the company is out of business and can not find parts so when it goes I most likely will just replace.
Was thinking something like this would work and will not need plumbing Black + Decker BPACT12HWT Portable Air Conditioner, 12,000 BTU with Heat
Even has a dehumidifier setting that I would drain into the shower pump so it would really be almost plug and play. The vent would go out one of the side windows.

Do you drive from inside?

I thought about that too but like to drive from the lower station in the hot weather (getting old can not take the sun) how is visibility with the cabin top unit?

Louis, The Carrier low profile unit is only 7" tall I think. I can see just fine. I drive always from lower helm.
