tracing wires, I found the second battery charger wired into a harness and the ground goes to the hull ground. where the hull ground is located there is this odd fuse block behind the frame. I think maybe one of these goes to an aft bilge pump, and maybe to the alternator? anyone else encounter something like this? Several fuses are missing also.

Sure doesn't look right to me. Nothing like that should be located in the engine room. 12 volt DC fuse boxes, regardless of manufacturer, usually put any fuse blocks inside the cabin, possibly near the helm. That looks like a accident waiting to happen. I would see what all those circuits are and eliminate the ones that no longer work, and relocate the ones that do.

Had almost the same fuse panel in the same location, shower pump, water pump, toilet and aft bilge pump were wired into it, half the fuses blown the other half missing. Just bought a Blue Sea's breaker panel to rewire everything. Might also add had wires coming off it that went nowhere, just stripped ends.

Thanks tuggle, that make sense, no longer have shower, or toilet, will trace water pump and bilge to reconnect!

I am pulling lots of wire out of my 87 Sportsman. Amazing the stuff you find. Had several "hot" wires just hanging around!
