That does not leave a lot of room for a 1 1/4 shaft. Any issues running a larger shaft through there? Want to go from 1 to 1 1/4 to run a larger prop.
The rule of thumb for shaft log clearance is no less than 3/8" over the diameter, however, I believe the Marinettes use the same shaft log for 1" and 1.250" shafts.

Mine came directly from Marinette, that was a good year and half ago. The father was handling all affairs at the time.

On the sign-in page for this forum, scroll down to the lower section and you'll see how the forum is organized. One of the section is for Vendors. Very helpful. It is not for asking general questions. Rather it's for posting a list of parts sources with whom you've had favorable dealings or a place to find hard to find parts

Yes John Althouse's father still sells parts, spoke with him this morning about rudders, rudders and struts are made to order. He said call him at 619-208-6458 and leave a message if he doesn't answer. Said son is doing better and attending therapy on a regular basis.

I'm in the same boat. So to speak. :) I need a strut for my 1990 32 sedan with twin 360s and the 1.25" shaft. Anyone know if John Althouse is still in the strut business? I'm new to the super fun financial drain that goes along with owning a boat like this. My boat is at Washington Marine in Cincinnati, who have been great to work with so far. They are planning on fabricating one. I'm just exploring my options.

Glad to hear that! He was very cordial when I spoke with him years ago.
