Corrosion question
Corrosion question
As the song says “Rust never Sleeps” Does corrosion continue when out of the water? My project doesn’t have an end in sight and So do I need to focus on the hull to some degree to stop the corrosion, or is it OK to continue working on the mechanical side? It’s been high and dry for years…
Re: Corrosion question
Probably not so much.
I've always stored my boat out in the weather but the only problem I had with the rain was rotting of the plywood deck in the cockpit. I replaced the plywood with HDPE sheet a few years ago and got rid of that concern.

Re: Corrosion question
Inconsequential . In dampness, there's always some decay going on but it's tiny. There's no body of water through which the ions can travel to and fro.
Salty air, more but I assume that's not a worry for you.
