A sad day

Post by javalin390 »

Trolling the web to check out Big M's for sale and see that the 60' Marinette catamaran is no longer listed for sale and the original broker has scrubbed their site. Also found a post on the Marinette facebook site that states that it has been sold for scrap. I had traveled to Deale MD to see her in January 2024 (see my previous post) but after running the numbers, the dry dock fees were outrageous, $800.00 a month, was out of my price range. Not sure who bought her or what her fate is, but I fear it's a tragic end to Sorry Dog's old boat. I had a few email exchanges with Sorry Dog, he had sent me before and after pictures of her build and she was a beauty. Truly sad.

From all accounts and having seen some photos, it was, indeed, a work of art and love. The guy put tons of effort and money into a remake for having good times. Interesting that it made its way to my old stamping grounds. We kept our 1987 32' FBS at Deale until we sold it. Do you recall which marina houses it?

She was dry docked, way in the back of the lot, across from the canvas shop on Old Deale Rd.
