My 29 on the Market

Post by barkleydave »

It is with regret I have listed my 29 Sedan with a broker. I love this ole girl and she is solid and has been reliable.
Age and some health issues (advanced arthritis and back surgeries) is making it difficult to enjoy her like I use to. It is a comfortable cruiser and would make anyone a happy camper for a small investment.

It may not sell but just wanted to let folks on here know it is available and I would love to sell to a Big M fan.

Listed for $20k but that is adjusted for the broker fees if sold through a broker.

Contact me if you would like pictures etc.

Happy sailing soon !

Dave,

Sorry to hear that you're finding it advisable to sell your boat. I hope she finds a new owner who will appreciate her the way you have shown here on the forum. It would seem the ravages of time is something we all face...

... except our boats!!! With reasonable care they stand up to time to allow future captains (and Admirals! :D ) a chance to experience one of the finest boats ever built!

Thanks Bill means a lot to me.

Sellers Beware!
Now here is a heads up ! I was going to list her with POP Yachts. I was told that the only cost was the 10 percent commission.
FALSE!
Now here is the real deal with these folks.
1. Minimum commission charge in contract: $2,750 !
2. Contract does not expire and requires notice of cancellation
3. No leads they "generate" without commission for 6 months after cancellation.

I was going to list for $20,000 which I did not expect to receive an offer... that is a commission rate of 13.75 percent !
So figure if you sold for less the commission remains the same $2,750 !

Obviously I did not sign the contract.

So if anyone would like a fair no strings Capt. to Capt. deal let me know...

Sad end of an era. Hope she goes to a god home.

Jeff

PS: Much as I miss mine, I too got too old to maintain her properly.

I am always trolling the internet just to check out the market on Big M's, that's why I always post good finds on here. One thing I have noticed that I have NEVER seen a good review for Pop yachts. I have nothing but bad. From what I have heard, they screw the buyers the worst.
