Its impossible to keep it 'simple'. That's why I now have a 19 foot bow rider that I can repair in my garage.

I drilled a couple of holes and sheet metal screwed it to the transom (with silicon on the threads). Piece of cake!

Re: Afraid to install transducer on aluminum boat.
I used a Huminbird transom mount on my 32 footer and never had a problem. You'll need to spring for the cable extension kit--a bit pricey.

Re: Re:1984 crusader Question for FastJeff
Got a piece of impeller stuck in the T-stat housing, blocking off water flow to one side. Drove me nuts before I stumbled on to it (including pulling the riser off to rod out perfectly clear and open holes).

Re: Twin 360's props
I used 17 x 15s on mine--not 17 x 19s. That's way too much pitch. My engines never saw over 3,900 rpm with them. Using 16 x 15s will waste gas and wear the engines unnecessarily. (Stock was 16 x 16 three blades.) Using 16 x 15 FOUR bladers would work okay. Rule of the thumb says a four blade prop eq...

Re: Exhaust Leak
That might also be it. I had to retighten the valve cover bolts on mine (after the motor was together for 8 years).
