Re: Renaming Boat
My boat kept the same name for 46 years and all Hell still decended on me. I called it a number of things but never wrote it on the stern. Gotta admit, with her gone to the far north, I’m going to miss the pain this spring. Regards to all and a wish for an early spring for all of you. 75 degrees and...

Re: For Sale 1972 28' express with trailer
Jake, Enjoyed meeting you and your Dad. Gotta admit, it was tough watching you pull away with "Safari" in tow. Went for a fall, sunset cruise on my sons 37' big M on Sunday and this helped. We're blessed here in Tennessee with Mountains, plenty of clean water and the occasional 80 degree d...

Re: Value question 32 express bridge
I'm done also. In my part of the world you can't get anyone to work on the old chryslers. One 1972 28' express, single 318, starts good, idles good, miss under load, is for sale. Also looking at donating, just to be done. Tired of dealing with a problem that I have no control over. Have trailer but ...

Re: Bow Rail Restoration
The nylon washer worked well for me also. I put a dab of silicone on each washer and positioned over the screw hole and let it dry in place before I started replacing the rails. This was the "Jeff" method and sure beat trying to get a washer between the base and deck with silicone screws i...

Re: what to do when railing screws are stripped out
I used 10-24 alum rivet nuts with nylon washers between the deck and base. Used Harbor Freights tool and had no problems at all. I bought two before I started as at that time we didn't have one closer than 80 miles. Gave the unused one to my son to use on the rails on his 37 FB. I don't remember the...

Re: Exhaust manifold temp
Skye, We do have the same setup with the dual pocket pump. I didn't pull the hose to the transmission cooler and that is my next step to see if I have obstruction at that point. If you can tell me were you found the diagram I'll try to run it down. Thanks for the help. I've not been much help to the...

Re: Exhaust manifold temp
Skye, Thought I remembered you could read the timing at the rear, obviously my most recent mechanic didn't. These guys today only know how to plug in their computers to tell them what's wrong. Block temp is from reading the temp gauge and reading the temp at the thermostat housing with the Lazer tem...

Re: Exhaust manifold temp
Single 318, original, showing 1160 hours. Plan on pulling the plugs (again) next week. New points just this week, heads reworked last summer and very few hours since the rebuild. Anyone got any suggestions as to the best way to get in a position to actually check the timing. I'm too old and to get w...
