Re: New Member with new to me, a "73 28' Marinette Single 318 eng
Welcome Many of us out there with the same, let us know how we can help. Personally, I have removed and refinished every single piece of wood on my boat, including side panels (stripping vinyl and recovering). People will think you are crazy, but if you love to work on things and fix things up, then...

Re: Flybridge Question for Leviathon
Depends who you ask. My wife is convinced with 2 people up top we are top heavy. I think it is fine. Certainly there are plenty of 28' marinettes with flybridges. Overall, I think that my 28' marinette is not the most stable boat on the water, with the light weight, and the hull design, it is a litt...

Re: Marine Radio
I have a Dual Marine unit in mine and have been very happy with it. I think it is just one of those areas you stick with the expensive "marine" grade system and you don't have to worry about it. We also pay for XM, which is wonderful. Always have good tunes going on the boat.

Re: One of a kind?
Thanks Keldridge, That explanation makes sense. After owning a 28' marinette for 5 years, it gave us a chance to see what we really use a boat for. We love the sun. So a boat with a 2 foot deck that seats 4 people to enjoy the sun we see for 3 months in southwest Michigan did not really work. A typi...

Re: Moving up to 32
Thanks Bill, I can see that as the hoses go back to the transmission. I do not think on these Chryslers that there is a cooler for the oil, so that probably is not an issue. Just need to go through this boat front to back as it is certainly different than the 1968 28'. It has an oven with Rotiserie,...

Re: One of a kind?
I saw that boat for sale - that is very unique. The one I just bought is a 1973, 32 foot Fisherman. I also, have not seen a boat quite like this one with the fly pushed all the way up front. Leaves lots of space for seating up top, and of course a large rear deck.

Re: Moving up to 32
I thought the cooler was for the transmission fluid not the motor oil??

Re: Moving up to 32
It turns over slower that the other engine, but I did hear it run last week prior to moving the boat from Cleveland to Michigan. I need to start some diagnoses to see where the water is coming in, hoping for a head gasket.

Re: Moving up to 32
No survey - bought this boat from photos online. Knew I would find surprises. This was one of those "boat angel" type of deals. Just did not get a chance to survey it myself prior to purchase.
