Re: Solar panels & house bank
I am a newer owner of a 32 FB and am also considering installing solar panels. I also have a 32' Gemini Catamaran sailboat, on which I have 2 100 panels, and a PMR controller. It works great. In the summer, I can just about let the fridge run, and keep the batteries charged on solar alone. Cloudy da...

Re: Dual Helm switching procedure/rudder issue
Not an expert, for sure. I notice that when switching stations, I have to turn the wheel back and forth until I feel a 'catch'. I have settled on making sure the boat is going straight, then pulling the switch lever, then when switching, going back and forth with the opposite when until I can feel i...

Re: bargain Marinette
I know of a 41' in Demopolis, Al. I am sure it is for sale. I bought a 32' FB from a lady whose husband died a couple of years ago. They owned 2 boats and she wanted to sell both boats. As of March, this year, it was still for sale. Around 40K?? I have her contact information if anyone wants it . Ca...

Re: Potential use of heat exchangers in non-exchanger 318
You might consider adding an inverter instead, and then just plugging in a small fanned heater available for $20 at any local dollar general or Walmart. The engines running, power the inverter nicely to run the boat outlets. If you plan or running a 1500w heater, make sure the inverter is at least 1...

Re: Refrigerator Replacement
I have the Isotherm on a sailboat that I also own. It draws little power, is quiet, and works very well. It is expensive and came on the boat. The 32 M FB we bought a short while ago, had a dorm fridge in it. No tv. Instead of buying the 12v fridge and 12v tv, I bought an 1100 w inverter off of Amaz...

running on one engine to save fuel?
There have been past side comments on this topic, but I start a new thread to address this topic, as it doesn't seem to be clear on the best approach, and it is hard to locate comments when they are in other topic's posts. Problem: a boat needs to go a long distance on limited fuel. We have the opti...

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan
We recently purchased and just finished commissioning a 32 FB. twin 318's. We have run it locally up the river and back around Demopolis, Al. Our intention is to cruise down the Tombigbee to our home port past Pensacola. It is 217 miles downriver, w/2 locks, to Mobile, Al. The fuel prospects on the ...

salt water owners. longevity?
I just purchased a 1986 32 sedan FB. It is in, and has always been in freshwater. Our home is near Pensacola, brackish to saltwater use here. For those who brought there Marinette's to areas like this, how has the boat held up? How long have you had it in these waters, and what have you done to pres...
