Re: Ignition System Components & Locations
Pop off your distributor cap. Do you see a wheel (reluctor) with 8 points on it? Or do you see a set of metal contacts with a plastic block riding on a cam (points). If you have points you won't need the new ignition module.

Re: Engine dies after warming up
The breaker tripping would lead me to believe you have a bad coil or ballast resistor. Shouldn't trip throttling up or down.

Re: Engine dies after warming up
Run it until it stalls, pull a spark plug wire and stick an old spark plug in and ground it to the block. If no spark you have an ignition problem. Coils can get hot and break down. Ballast resistor could be bad. Moisture under distributor cap usually causes problems at higher rpm. But that is defin...

Use your radio. If there are other boaters nearby they might throw you a line and tow you to safety. Chan...

Re: flybridge ignition switches
Dual station ignition switches are wired in parrallel . You could do a 3way switch configuration similar to your home wiring for the ignition circuit, and then add starter switches wired in parrallel for the starter circuit. That way you could start/kill the motors from either helm.
