Re: Replacing boat interior walls and ceiling idea

That plastic you are thinking of is FRP (fiberglass re-inforced plastic ) is available at any lumber yard or Lowes.- Been discussed here before as truck stop toilet walls.- I've considered it but the main problem is it is very thin. Normally it is applied over plywood for strength and to stiffen it....

Re: exterior hardware identification help

That part in the center.... with the big round knob is the cover for the shore power receptacle, which should be near the helm. If the boat is out in the weather I would cover all the holes on the deck with duct tape for a temporary seal. Most of the other parts are chocks and fairleads for the ancho...

Re: running engines on the hard?

What I do is disconnect the hose from the seacock at the strainer. I have a longer piece of hose to put on the strainer that goes into a 5 gallon bucket. If you put the correct size bit in a cordless drill this is real quick and easy. Put the garden hose in bucket and when it's full, start it up. Yo...

Re: Engine rotation

There is a standard on which one goes in the reverse rotation, but the only way to be sure is look at the prop on that side. If only the block is cracked, they are the same.If you are lucky the old block might be repairable, but if it is in bad shape you would be cheaper to get a new block.

Re: Stats

New site is nice, but what about my points from the old site. I need them to buy gas and rum and all the stuff to keep the boat and me running.
Oh, I think I may have had negative points. Story of my life. Oh well.

Re: Repower Discussion

For two engines (left handed one was $1000 more than the standard one) with closed cooling, new transmissions and shipping it was $18,000. 7 years ago. But I needed everything and found that all the marine parts were hard to get, and would cost more for the 318. If you have pumps, manifolds, heat exch...
