Re: No Fire

Okay need some more ideas if you please. I am getting the motor to start and I have had it running for maybe 60 seconds at the most. It normally takes lots of cranking, several attempts of squirting gas into the carb etc. She doesn't want to start all the time or regularly, and I am having a terribl...

Re: Any idea what this is?

Robalo220 is dead on. Gate valve is seized up, heat tape on inlet and wrapped with insulation and duct tape. Hope to cut it off, put on a ball valve and check into seeing if I can get a plate welded on. The plate may be tough to get done but I will check into it.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Any idea what this is?

I will try to post some better pics I just realized how terrible they are. I must have used a too low resolution. Everything is wrapped in duct tape I plan on removing it all as soon as I get a chance. That's a very good input and sounds logical. I'll try to fix the pics.

Re: Any idea what this is?

I was thinking it must be a waste dump but I have no idea how the PO used it with it all the way in the aft of the boat. There is a newer holding tank and also a macerator plumbed into the waste pumpout fitting on the deck. Although it's not hard wired into a switch and appears you have to physicall...

Any idea what this is?

Any idea what this is? Through hull it appears on port side behind fuel tank. Has a electric cable made from a extension cord running into the aft head. Extension cord appears to be going around or I to the fitting? Hose on fitting goes through a valve into a dead head with a deck fitting and lid li...

Re: No Fire

Correction, I had just glanced at the top of the tank and that is a safety regulator. No fuel pump. Since I have this cheap one from the internet and it's pumping the tank as we speak I may follow Jeff's instructions for a pump to fill the carb. That seems like a neat trick.

Re: No Fire

I will say that I know less then most if not all on this forum but after trying to figure out my lack of fire and the two voltage Chrysler ignition coil I saw the HEI stuff and had to go that route. I think I had some PO wiring issues but since I was digging in I wanted to go ahead to the HEI system...

Re: No Fire

So quick question when hooking up the 12v pump do I hook it up before the fuel pump on the engine? Straight off the tank, before the carb etc? I have a few days before it arrives.

Re: No Fire

I have a 12v universal fuel pump on order. I hope that get the job done. Can't thank everyone enough for the help. The PO left me a bucket with a ball valve silicones into the side with a hose on it. I plan on hooking it up and seeing if we can idle. Currently the wife has the water source hooked to...
