Use steel or brass wool to plug the intake and thru hulls. perhaps you can remove the vent cover screws and then fasten some heavy screening in place

(if you have the duct work in place and space for a new unit, they seem fairly straightforward although it's one of those things that pro knowledge will make for fewer errors)

Would putting the charger on a timer be a good idea -- say 30 mins/day or if the timer allows, intermittent days?

Perko Fuel Filter stock number

For those of you who have the old (but still very effective) Perko fuel filter with the ceramic cartridge, I attached the label giving you the part number when they eventually become harder to find.. (and now, having posted it for posterity, I can throw out the label)

$310 sounds awfully high for oil pressure sensor. They are notoriously weak and should be regularly inspected. After one blew on me (luckily !!! while I was looking at it by chance), I stocked a couple of spares and if they had cost $310 I would have remembered that.

If I were doing it over again (I won't be), I would not choose aluminum. Too hard and unforgiving though it is very easy to maintain. And to differ with my pal Jeff, I would not cover wood with it because that, in my belief, hastens the wood rot (seals in the moisture from below) -- unless the wood ...
