Re: Salmon
Thanks, we were happy to get them. Not real big and far from a record, but bigger and better than the other salmon we were catching. We even caught 2 white kings this summer. Wife is holding one in the pic. You don't know that they are white kings until you clean them. They have pale ivory meat and ...

Re: Big block 440s in a 32 express
I have 300hp Chevy 350's and have never had them wide open. I think I have 14 x 12 cupped props. At 1000rpm I do 10mph on the GPS. My boat is light, no fly bridge, no generator. I use full down on the trim tabs as all the weight is concentrated in the back. I do have a 40 gallon fresh water tank in ...

Re: Getting out of the engine compartment
I just use a plastic milk crate up-side down. Had to put a little notch in it with a skill saw to go over a stringer. I leave it there and take it out if it is in my way when I'm working down there. Red Green says you can find them in back of the local 7-11 if you need one.

Re: Backfire at idle
Check the plug wires go to the correct plug. Check that the rotor is aimed at the nipple for that wire when it fires. ( it can be making the spark when it is not lined up ) check the timing and the advance. If want to, you can make any nipple you want on the distributor be #1. Just make sure #1 is o...

Re: Waste Pump out Cap
Looks like it might be one and a half inch pipe thread. You can get plastic or stainless plugs. Take the old one to a plumbing supply house and find a fitting the plug fits, then a new plug that also fits. A pipe thread will have a taper ( 3/4 inch per foot ) a machine thread will be straight. Yours...

Re: Horn wire come off
Mine has 1/4 inch hardboard with vinyl covering. Held up with sheet metal screws. Use a cordless drill and it comes down quickly.

Re: Horn wire come off
On mine the wire for the horn is connected to a 8-32 stud to go through the roof of the cabin. Then another wire connects to the stud on the outside to the horn. The ceiling panel will come down easily to get access. Keep track of the parts so you can put them back in the same place. If the stud is ...

Re: Depth Sounder dooh!
Real simple fix. ( and yes, you can't splice the cables ) Decide what brand you want that is available. Order a model equal to what you had. They pay for it. They made the mistake, they pay for it. If you want a model that is not equal, you should pay for the extra amount. A good yard will cover the...

Re: Fuel system upgrades
You're running out of fuel. That is what it will do when that little filter gets dirty. Pull it out and blow it out in the reverse direction and you will be able to go fast. Napa or any auto parts store will have them in stock.
