Re: 37 Sedan- Considering LARGER rudders, thoughts?
There are at least 4 boats (not Marinettes) at my marina that have rudder extensions on them for just that reason. My suggestion is look at other boats in your size range with similar draft, deadrise and prop size and see what size rudders they run. You may be surprised what you find. It has always...

37 Sedan- Considering LARGER rudders, thoughts?
So I have to change out my port side rudder. Pulling the boat later this week. Changing a couple of through hull fittings, cleaning, new bottom paint, anodes etc. May end up changing both rudders and wanted your opinions. I drive many 32 foot Marinetes and they feel like Sports cars compared to my 3...

Re: Packing boxes RUDDER
1975 37 sedan. My port side rudder box leaks water. The plastic packing box may have a crack in it. Do you all know what I need to do to fix this situation? Do I need to buy the box listed on the first page? Is this something that can happen from bad wadding? My plan is to pull out next week for und...

I'm trying to be somewhat cost effective.ironball wrote:I would look into cutting out the old tanks and mounting multiple small tanks linked together so the only cutting done was to the old tanks. This would not be cheap but you would not cut your boat apart.

This is a possibility. Got a good source? Was thinking that I could saw the tops out of the old tanks and fit the bladders in place.Tuggle wrote:What about Bladders?

Re: Options for changing out my fuel tanks.
I'd really like to find about a 100 gallon tank that will fit through my rear hatch and mount where my gen set used to be. Got any ideas? How about a good place to shop for a fuel tank? Any suggestions? Crazy thought but can you think of a good reason why I can't run a fuel tank that was built for a...

Options for changing out my fuel tanks.
My 37 sedan is a 75 model. It has twin CAT 3208s. Over the years the diesel fuel has eaten it's way through the 2 150 gallon tanks. I'm looking at this and thinking that in order for me to remove and replace the two tanks that I would have to cut the entire rear out of the stern, remove a bunch of s...

Re: Swithching to hydraulic steering- Anyone done this on their own?
Does anyone happen to know what length cable I need on a 37 sedan? Thinking about going back to cable. And a good place to purchase said cable would be nice.

Swithching to hydraulic steering- Anyone done this on their own?
So I now have pieced together two complete hydraulic set ups. The wheels / pump and cylinder. I'm considering only doing the conversion to the top helm. Given the way these Marinette's can mechanically switch and isolate the top from the bottom and the fact that the bottom has never given me any pro...
