Re: Stantions and railing mods
I had a similar idea, and it looked really nice for a week, but I made the mistake of purchasing cheaper stainless hinges. My daughter went to open it (the wrong way) and it bent the hinge, the railing came off, and ended up at the bottom of the marina :-(. All is well though -it was a mistake I can...

Re: Stantions and railing mods
Using a simple hack-saw, I have cut the aluminum 'railing' between the 2 stanchions allowing me and the kids to enter the rear of the boat from the swim ladder more easily. the railing is hollow, so I used a router to craft an oblong wooden dowel into the open ends of the rail, a little gorilla glue...

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Special thanks to all who offered advice on this issue. I purchased a new water pump and I've verified good flow on all the faucets and the head as well. I'm starting to recondition the water tank, I've added some bleach and cycle the tank a few times. It's not as if we're drinking out of it anytime...

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
...after further thought, maybe a full replace of the tank is better in the long run?

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Answer, yes, I will likely keep it. But why not just replace the fill & vent lines?

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Hey folks, been awhile since I decided to put off the freshwater pump replace, etc. so now it’s fall and here’s something to consider as I dig in...I smell mold down there, and I suspect my vent line to the outside, and perhaps the water inlet to the pump is clogged with gunk /mold and, sadly, my fr...

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Bill, I found the pump! It’s the belt driven older PAR model I assume from Jabsco. It runs but still not getting any pressure out of the sink. No valves around the pump either so I assume the entire system is “open”. I’m thinking to replace the pump, based on my result and reading some other posts c...

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Bill, thank you for taking the time to reply. I can hear the pump in the same spot you suggest (next to the stairs) on the Port side near where I filled the tank. But I can not open that cabinet/cupboard but I haven’t tried too hard. I will take a look again when I get back there

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Somewhat related question, I purchased an ‘84 Marinette 28’ Sedan F/B last fall. All systems are working but I’m not getting any pressure from my sinks when I turn on the water system switch. I can hear the pump running, so I suspect when it was winterized, the valve has remained closed. Can someone...
