Re: Topside Helm cable too long??
Holy cow! Boatdesigns.com had the steering ring that I needed. Now to figure out the proper sized cable! I think I'm going to measure the existing cable's jacket length by measuring tape (as it would be in a straight line), add 18", and round up. Are we sure no one knows the right length for a ...

Re: Topside Helm cable too long??
Wayne- It was either routed incorrectly, or was replaced and its simply too long. Extra friction may have caused the break in the topside steering box, as mentioned. I've found sources for the cables, but not the steering box, or its parts. :( Tuggle- I may certainly go that route, eventually, but f...

Replacing nav/fishfinder
Tel me what you're running, and why you like it so much. I'm getting ready to replace the old Hummingbird depth finder for something more "this century". Any tips or tricks, especially regarding replacing thru hull transducers?

Re: Zincs- More is better?
I agree. Although I am kind of a newbie to big boats, my understanding of the science is that direct, full-surface contact is required for the anode to do its work. "high-impedance-air-gaps" do very little in the electrical world.

Zincs- More is better?
I'm replacing zincs on my 32' Sedan FB, and currently, there is 9' ! of anodes on each side of the keel, and the rest are as typically specified. What would be the reason for 9', vs the recommended 3' on the keel? Is more better, or is this overkill? Just curious before I order from Boatzincs.com Ch...

Topside Helm cable too long??
Hello again! Here is my first M-Specific question. In looking over the topside helm, I discovered that the outer ring in the original Steermaster steering box was broken. I wasn't surprised, because the steering was very stiff when I first inspected it. I kind of put it down to old cable or lack of ...

New Marinette Owner introduction
Hello! My name is Chuck, and I am a former Supermod at http://www.sportster.org (when I was a Harley Sportster enthusiast), so I am well aware of the value of the collective knowledge of such a forum. Thank you in advance for your willingness to share! I've recently purchased a 32' Sedan FB. I didn'...
