Re: Crushed Spark Plug!

Ran it for a few minutes last fall to winterize but haven't had it up and running since. I hear a slight clunk when I turn it over but that may be coming from a bad tooth I have on the starter (replacement on the way).

Crushed Spark Plug!

Trying to resurrect my 28 Fisherman. Changing plugs out I discovered the spark plug in cylinder #5 of the Starboard engine the end of the plug pushed in and has broken the porcelain. I fear the worst, spun bearing, broken and loose ring et cetera. Who has encountered this? When I place my finger ove...

Re: Painting of hull transom topside question

I'm in the process of doing the transom right now. I've always been told you MUST use a primer that can take the solvents of Awlgrip, otherwise it will lift prior 1 part paints. I am using Pettit Easypoxy with a hardener. Roll and tip looks good enough for now.

Play in the shaft fore and aft?

My port shaft has about 1/2" of play for and aft. It does not seem like the two pinch bolts on the coupling are grabbing it. I've backed the coupling off of the flange to see if it slips right off(shaft coupling side), of course it does not. If I drive the shaft up as far as it will go it will ...

Re: 318 ignition system

That was likely me posting on the FB forum. Yep I've talked to Pertronix and I likely purchased an old stock unit. The weird thing is they would not give me a definitive answer on whether or not the lastest version would fit a CCW,,,they were kind enough to offer a credit on another item. Unfortunat...

Re: 318 ignition system

FYI, Last week I "tried" to drop in a Pertronix D241801 that I had purchased back in February. It did NOT fit in my CCW rotation 318LM, it wouldn't drop through the thrust collar. I was under the impression that Pertronix solved this issue. Ordered an MSD unit and had the same problem. Lon...
