Re: Silly marina sign

Its very common to have a "no portable fuel tanks", or more specifically, no refueling on the docks. Good reason for this. I witnessed an explosion at a fuel dock a few days ago. The fully engulfed (and not tethered) craft drifted into a nearby dock, and nearly set off all of the dock. htt...

Re: A/C wiring source

I am in process of rewiring my entire Shore Power system. Literally ALL of it, right down to receptacles. I've done a ton of research, and I'd be happy to share what I've learned. I shopped Amazon and West Marine, mostly. I ended up using West Marine for most all of it, but there are slightly better...

Re: Zincs- More is better?

I spoke to a fella at boatzincs.com who told me to absolutely not use conductive grease. Metal to metal contact only.

So there it is. :)

Re: Zincs- More is better?

Has anyone ever used a carbon conductive assembly grease when installing new anodes? Just seems like it would be a good idea?

Re: FastJeff Page How To posts

Dave, if the transferred file is just plain txt, not sure that there can be any misschief associated with it..... If it were even a jpg that would be different My belief is that its in the coding. I haven't had a chance to sift thru it all yet, but at some point, I may try to clean it up and get it...

Re: FastJeff Page How To posts

Since jeff's page is pretty unreadable due to some issue on the tripod server, I went ahead and copied the entire page to a word file and separated the postings below for everyone to have on this page. I figured this would be very helpful info to have on this page. I didn't bring over every post on...

Teak Refinishing

Thought I would share some results from some recent work I've been doing on the woodwork in the "new" boat. Couple things I learned as I went along: Strip the wood completely. It becomes a blank canvas, and from that point, you decide how you keep up that beautiful wood. I started by belt-...

Re: Facebook Group

You'll find more knowledge on this site. More boats for sale on the other. Most have been sitting for years, now they want to sell. Passed on your message, lets see if it works. Then you can spend even more time on the computer and it will be my fault. As a new M owner, I can confirm this observati...

Re: Bottom touch up opinions

A couple of items -I always put a different color on top so it acts as a signal coat. When the top coat wears, you can see the spot immediately. -I just wanted to be sure that once you sand a spot you get on at least the primer spot within a few hours, not the next day - aluminum skins over (oxidiz...

Bottom touch up opinions

My 32 is sitting on land right now, newly purchased. I was originally going to just hit the hull with SS wire brush, sand/prime the spots that are bare (not a lot of spots, but some). And rollover 3 or 4 coats with the paint the PO used. It surely needs to be stripped/done clean soon, but not until ...
